FireAvert works on electric stove and oven ranges. The FireAvert will only plug into a 4 prong female outlet (NEMA 14-50R, typically found in all homes built after 1990. If you have the older 3 prong female outlet you will need to replace it with the standard 4 prong along with the power cord from the stove. Both these parts are easily switched out and can be found at most hardware stores.
