Ordered this part to use with a Schlage window and door sensor. I was having trouble finding a suitable location to mount the Schlage on an overhead garage door. This Quick switch door switch provided a solution. The switch installs easily with some tapping screws, and the contact leads can be wired to the sensor's screw terminals.
The switch has a large gap sensing ability and can be placed around 2 inches apart from the included magnet. This provides a large adjustment area and should be able to placed in a variety of locations on a garage door. I chose to mount the magnet at the top of the door, and the contact enclosure on the wall above the door. I had around a 1.5" gap between the contact and the magnet, and it closes or opens the contact reliably.
If I have a similar situation in the future, I will definitely order this switch again!
